Twice in the last two days I’ve come across nailhead details that I just couldn’t resist and so I took that as a sign that you all really needed some more nailhead trim in your lives. The thing about nailhead trim is that it always take an item up a notch and is an easy way to make an otherwise ho hum piece chic, if not spectacular. Such is the case with the above nailhead trim side table put together by Clementine & Olive. Yes, that is two IKEA Lack tables put together and trimmed! The Lack table is one of my most favorite pieces of furniture on the planet. I just can’t think of another piece that offers as much versatility while still being good looking and only costing $7. That’s right, $7! I have them in my living room and just picked up another for my daughter’s room and I used them without the legs as my design boards when I was at RISD. I digress!
And then there is using nailhead trim in a more decorative pattern like on this desk pinboard by Courtney Hill Interiors. Who wouldn’t want to stick their to-do list up there? And the design is very simple and easy to do, but has a huge impact visually.
And then there is the use of it in a more traditional use like with this Regent Arm Chair in one of my favorite colors by one of my most favorite designers, Jonathan Adler.
Or you can go whole hog with it like this shot from House Beautiful and add nailhead trim to your bed, walls, and everything else in the room. It really is a nice way to add interest to and otherwise expansive space.
Or if you aren’t ready to commit or really want it in every detail in your house, grab the Dransfield & Ross Soap Dispenser with nailhead trim. They offer a complete boudoir set as well as a great selection of tabletop items with nailhead trim.
Now, where shall I add it to my house?
