Pamela thinks I have an obsession with whales. I don’t know where she would get such an idea. Just because I’ve posted about whale wallpaper, whale tissue boxes, whale platters, and whale baskets–oh, and don’t forget the carved whale in my kitchen– doesn’t make me an obsessed person (I hope!). There’s just something about them that I’m drawn to. It goes back as far as 20 years when I was studying abroad in France and fell in love with La Baleine. Anyhow, I figure if I’m going to be labeled as a whale-lover (there’s certainly no reason to hate them), I might as well share with you my latest irresistible whale finds. I’m pretty sure I could find a place in my home for all of them, but I don’t want to become one of those people who has a house full of all the same themed items so I’ll try to show some restraint.

If I had seen these whale tail hooks before I made over my mudroom, it might look a little different. I mean, really, could they be any cuter?!

It’s a little bittersweet to post this whale butter dish. You see I once owned it briefly, until it fell and shattered. It was a very sad day.

This little wooden whale box would be cute sitting on a bookshelf.

And these whale salad tongs are sure to make your party go swimmingly (sorry, I couldn’t resist!).

If you aren’t quite ready to commit to the whale in such a strong manner, or if you want others to enjoy the whale as much as you do, consider these whale paper clips. I know I’d look twice at whatever arrived in the mail with these attached to it!

Now if you’ll excuse me, my aunt suggested taking the kids on a whale watch next week so I’m going to go check out my options for seeing these lovely beasts up close.
