Americana, July 4th Decor
Believe it or not, July 4th is just two weeks away. It’s always nice to show your pride for the country, but it’s important to do it in a tasteful manner and without going too over the top. Think beautiful classic yacht (above) waiving its flag rather than girl in American flag string bikini (not that I would ever try to pull that off). While I’m perhaps biased, I think New Englanders pull off that classic American decor like no other, and I love roaming the local towns to see how people have decorated their homes for the July 4th celebration.
One easy and inexpensive way to decorate your home for this holiday is with throw pillows (better yet find just the pillow covers that you can swap out from your regular pillows when you need to). Put them out for a few weeks each year around the holidays that celebrate our great nation. This hooked American flag pillow from Chandler 4 Corners is perfect for a traditional home.
If you prefer something a little more subdued, try mixing Dash and Albert’s Trimaran Indoor/Outdoor Pillows in Breton Red and Denim.
Pottery Barn makes a great Stars & Stripes Pillow that has a nice vintage appeal.
World Market also offers these classic, simple Stars & Stripes pillows and at prices that can’t be beat!
And for those of you who love your country, but can’t quite make the flag work with your decor, consider this Red, White, and Blue Ikat pillow also from World Market.
How do you decorate for the 4th of July?
