The color combination of navy and white will always be classic, crisp and clean.  There is an immediate preppy association with sailing, blue blazers, tennis whites and monograms – a fan of all!  But the more worldly inspiration of coastal regions with intense blue waters washing up on white sandy beaches or a whitewashed landscape must be the inspiration for the Blu Mare collection by Vietri.  The coastal creature motif – octopus, crab, star fish and sea horse – on the plates above says Mediterranean and fresh seafood, not “tennis anyone”!

The Blu Mare collection made of terra bianca and hand painted with a bright cobalt blue whisks me to Mykonos.  A landscape rich in white and shades of blue.  A cuisine deeply rooted in the bounty of the sea.  A beautiful and inviting lifestyle.

Now will it be the canapé plates or the platters that grace my table?  Or shall I use them as a display on my kitchen wall to inspire culinary arts!
