Inspired by Amy’s bursts of color and Sarah’s creativity, a recent addition of a purple boa into our household turned out to be the perfect non-traditional mantle swag. There are so many areas in the house to add holiday cheer, so why not use something as simple as a feather boa – many colors to choose from – to dress up your mantle? A couple of ornaments, glass tree and candle sticks, silver beaded tinsel, and stockings, and voila! This took very little time and turned into a conversation piece for the holiday season.
The feather boa dresses the mantle, so minimal accessories are needed. Here are some close-ups . . .
The stocking is stuffed with tissue paper and topped with silver beaded tinsel.
Mercury glass ornaments are clustered with Santa to make it less serious!
And, our tin duck toy seemed perfect to pop out of the red stocking.
Fa la la la la.
