This year, I am seeing so many great ideas for holiday decorating with colors that don’t always scream Christmas. While, I love all the traditional decorations Christmas has to offer; wreathes with big plaid bows, red Poinsettia, mistletoe, everything green and red, I am wondering if I should venture out of my comfort zone and try something a little more bold. Could I pull off this fuchsia ribbon wreath? How stunning would this purple wreath look centered in my foyer or above the fireplace?
Gold Chargers or splashes of silver with white linens are usually what you would find on my holiday table. Well why not add a little blue to that silver or gold? This tablescape has a relaxed feeling (and who doesn’t need that this time of year?) that is perfect for a winter table. I’m thinking Christmas eve, but I could even see this color scheme used for a new years cocktail party. Remove the daisies and add some dramatic candles, and there you have it, a refreshing take on the holiday table. So go ahead, challenge yourself to use an unexpected color this year. I know I plan to.
