Pops of color and one-of-a-kind are a great combination for an eclectic decor.  Sundance is a great resource for upcycled wares, and this Benazir Sari Amchair (above) is another perfect example.  Vintage khaki cotton saris from India are hand-picked and upholstered onto these FSC®-certified maple frame chairs (with turned front legs, eight-way hand-tied spring and foam cushioning), and each chair is finished with a black welt on natural linen sides and back with the bolster pillow included.

These are so exclusive that no two are alike, and each has its own name . . .

If you want to get a jump on next year’s holiday preparation, then check out these great velvet ribbons that are now on sale at Sundance!  All ribbons are on wooden dressmakers’ spools with pearl pin stops and plenty of yardage (10 yds.).  Never enough ribbon . . . grosgrain, fancy, plaids and more.

I’m sure you can find something to do with the spools once you’re done with the ribbon too!

Christmas Gifts, DODOcase, ipad, Restoration Hardware, Sundance Catalog, Wish List

Just in case anyone is wondering what to get us (hint, hint: husbands) here are a few of the things on our wish lists for our own homes starting with Amy. Stay tuned for Pamela and Sarah’s top picks in the next few days.

This year I have been thinking about gifts that don’t complicate and giving gifts that will simplify a lifestyle.  Gifts that will last for years to come…

1. This flatware is exactly what I would love to replace my heavy pieces we got from our wedding registry.

2. I dream about these great looking tumblers.  They would look great in a kitchen that has open shelving…or could replace my dozens of broken wine glasses.

3. I am spoiled by having an ipad.  It has become a part of my home, and is used more than the television or stereo.  I read on it, play games, take notes and more.  So of course this DODOcase is high on my wish list. Of course I would get it in orange and, ahem, it can be monogrammed!

4. Cozy up by the fire with these dreamy throws?  Yes, please!

Or better yet, I could snuggle up under the cashmere throw by the the light of this great lamp while reading The Chick Palace on my ipad.  Yup, I think that sounds pretty good to me.

Lotus Bowls Add a Pop of Color to Your Kitchen

While the party closet should ideally be full of neutral pieces, don’t be afraid to expand it to add these charming Lotus Dessertware Bowls from the Sundance Catalog.  This set of four bowls are hand-painted with the Lotus motif and are dishwasher safe.

Similar to the Lotus flower, the coloring of these bowls mimic nature – the lavender and yellow of the the flower, the rich aqua color water, and the red of the blazing sun.

The bowls are wonderful for ice cream, snacks and more, but the service is most complete with the Lotus Dessertware Plates!  Both the bowls and plates arrive in a “giftable box” for storage, or to use for a hostess gift.
