Hello! It’s been quite awhile since I’ve posted, but get ready because you’re about to hear a lot more from me! You see, when I started this blog four years ago, I was out of work and home with an infant and toddler. I needed an outlet and a way to stay in the design game while I was looking for work. It worked, and while it wasn’t my intention, this blog lead to me spending the last 3.5 years as a freelance writer and editor for online and print publications such as Parentables, TLC, du Jour, Newport Life, and Naturally Savvy.
I’m very grateful for all I’ve learned working for these publications, but for the most part, I’ve also spent the last 3.5 years constantly chasing deadlines on stories that aren’t related to design and just trying to make it through each day juggling work and kids. And I’ve gotten pretty far away from the design end of things in terms of how I make my living. Opening the store has been a huge step in getting back towards that, and for reasons beyond my control my regular writing gigs for some of the aforementioned publications have fizzled out over the past few months. My first thought was to quickly start searching for more writing work because, you know, it’s how I actually make my living, but what I realized is that there’s nothing else I want to do more than get focused back on this blog and making it the best it can be as well as making the store a success. I also hope to add at least some e-commerce for those of you who can’t pop in in person (although I’m always happy to ship)!
Ironically, this year when I have so many of my own projects to share (we just completed another one–a mini makeover of the basement playroom), I haven’t had the time to get the posts up! But moving forward, it’s just me, this blog, the store, and you guys, and I couldn’t be more excited!
But enough about me, I can’t write a post without sharing some eye candy. I promise I won’t bombard you with lots of products from the store on the blog, but I’d be crazy not to make sure you’re all aware of these gorgeous monogram trays by Jill Rosenwald.
I think they are the perfect gift for that loved one on your list who is either really hard to shop for or who is just super chic!
They come in a single or double monogram in four sizes and four patterns: Hampton Links (shown), chevron, quatrefoil, and hexagon (you can see them all on our page). And there are 30 color options that you can mix and match!
Here’s one we had done for a customer. They’re all handmade in Boston, have a stunning gold trim on the edge, and are signed. Here’s the catch: if you think this is the perfect gift for someone on your list, orders need to be in by tomorrow in order to be guaranteed to be here by Christmas. So make a list and check it twice, and call today () if you’d like to place an order!
